ABOUT OUR YOUTH GROUP:
|
We have a great youth program for Junior and Senior High students. Our
program, called 2 4 2 provides a place
where students come, hang out, eat, and enjoy each other while being
challenged to live a life of purpose and meaning!
The name “242” comes from Acts
2:42 which describes how the early church operated. Our 242 program
exists to connect Middle and High School students to Christ so they may
be uplifted and equipped to life life to the max as a truly dedicated follower
of Jesus Christ and take His message throughout the world.
The program emphasizes three areas of ministry:
- Fellowship – We believe hanging out and enjoying
the company of other Christians is vital to a really dedicated follower
of Christ. We come early on Sunday nights to play cornhole, ping-pong,
football, or whatever people feel like doing in a safe, supervised
place. Our snack area provides another place for people to just kick
back and relax.
- Teaching – Every Sunday night there is a challenging
message that will change your life. Teaching occurs in two formats
at 242. Middle School and High School students come together for a
message that is meant to inspire students to take action on the topic.
Following the message students break up into four groups:
- High School Boys
- High School Girls
- Middle School Boys
- Middle School Girls
During this time we discuss the main points of the message then
we commit some time to prayer.
- Prayer – We believe in the power of prayer. There
is always a time for us to spend talking to and listening to God through
prayer.
We also have DiscipleshipGroups for Middle & High
School students. These are small groups of students who meet once a week
(Tuesdays or Wednesdays) to go a little deeper in their life with Jesus
through additional Bible study and discussion.
We have "Life Coaches" who teach and guide the small groups.
Our Life Coaches (Adult Leaders) are:
Andy Baugh — Middle School Boys
Michelle Baugh (& Lee Able)— Middle School
Girls
Brett Huffman — High School Boys
Stacey Brinkley (& Julie Hiles) — High School
Girls
